Panacea certified as compliant with ISO 9001:2015 - QMS

Panacea is pleased to announce that we have been certified as compliant with ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management Systems.

Our Chairman, Stuart Colligon, commented: “this is an important step for the business and is an endorsement of everything we do and how we do it.  It will be an attractive development for potential customers too, as it confirms our dedication to quality”.

ISO 9001:2015 (which replaced the previous version ISO 9001:2008) is an internationally recognised standard that sets out the requirements for a Quality Management System.  The standard aims to help businesses to become more efficient and to improve their customer service.

The road to ISO certification at Panacea started in 2019 with a small team – Beth Radcliffe, Mark Webster-Smith and Jackie Russell – who looked into the ISO requirements and also researched potential consultants who would have the necessary experience to guide us through the process.

As Panacea already had a robust Quality Management System covering our pharmacovigilance activities, we were in a good position to meet the requirements of the ISO Standard.

The project itself commenced in 2020 and included monthly meetings with the consultancy company ‘ISO QA’, whose expertise helped us to navigate and further understand the process and requirements. With their assistance, and despite three Covid lockdowns, we managed to keep on target for our Certification Audit, which we successfully completed in May 2021.

Stuart added: “this has been a huge undertaking for the business, and it is fantastic that we have achieved this impressive milestone”.

Panacea’s ISO 9001:2015 journey does not stop here!  It is an on-going commitment for the company and its staff.  We can now expect annual Surveillance Visits and a 3-yearly Re-Certification Audit to ensure that we keep on track.
