New Head of Finance appointed as part of growth strategy

We’re delighted to welcome Nigel Caine who has joined us as our new Head of Finance.

The FCCA-qualified Chartered Accountant, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the finance sector, is based at our HQ and has overall responsibility for managing financial matters, policies, and procedures.

Our Chairman, Stuart Colligon, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Nigel to our team. His recruitment is a very important element in our ambitious but achievable strategy for 2021 and beyond that will see the business grow both organically, and via acquisitions which is where his knowledge and experience will be a particularly valuable asset. In that aspect of his role, Nigel’s analysis of investment opportunities will enable the Board to make critical business decisions.”

Nigel commented: “Panacea already has a very strong position and an excellent international reputation within the pharma and biomed sectors. But everyone here is committed to pushing the business forward to achieve even more, so it’s really exciting to have joined a dynamic, energetic, and ambitious team right at the start of an exciting new era for the company.”

As part of the overall objective of ensuring that Panacea continues its drive to deploy best practice methods and lean working processes, Nigel will also guide the critical assessment of existing structures and processes, and play a leading role in ensuring our objectives are met within a robust risk-management framework.

Nigel joined us from Webis Holdings PLC where he was Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary for five years. Earlier in his career he was CFO at Burnbrae Group Limited, and prior to that CFO and Company Secretary at Speymill Deutsche Immobilien Company PLC. He has an MBA in Finance and Financial Management Services, and fellowships with several professional organisations including ACCA, Institute of Financial Accountants, Institute of Public Accountants, ICSA: The Governance Institute, and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
